Elementary Battle of the Books (EBOB) is a competition that is held every year at mid-to-late March. It is open to students in grades 4 and 5. Competition questions are based on a list of 15 books (see list at right). Students spend months preparing for this day by reading and re-reading all the books and practicing questions about them. On competition day, teams from all Wilkes County elementary schools meet at the Stone Center to do "battle" and see which school's team can answer the most questions correctly. The winning team goes on to represent Wilkes County in the regional competition in Hickory. For more information about the program, see Mrs. Wiebel.
